Autumn is by far my favorite season because of the glorious changes it brings. I am so excited to share that change is also coming to my business and website!
If you’re reading this, you know that I am a passionate beachcomber. You are also probably aware that for nearly two years now, I have been crafting like crazy. On a mission (down a rabbit hole?) to use my beachcombed finds in as many creative ways as possible, I tried everything from decoupage (love) to resin (not so much). Interestingly, all roads have led me (back) to my tried and true creative tools: the needle and thread.
Those close to me know that I don't relax well. I am one of those people whose head is loud! For as long as I can remember, I have relied on handiwork to quiet the noise. While most people can chill with Netflix, I need to be doing something while watching. Since childhood, my go-to has been needlepoint, making me somewhat of an accomplished stitcher. In recent years, I have taken up bead weaving, and now I alternate between the two. Whether stitching a seahorse or using a piece of sea glass as a bracelet clasp, my passion for the beach has (predictably) influenced my work.
People often see something I’ve made and say, "How do you do that?" To this, I typically respond, “It is not that hard.” That usually gets me an eyeroll. Another thing I hear a lot is, “I could never do that." My answer to that is definitively, “Sure you could.” Cue a louder eyeroll. But seriously, with a little instruction, anyone can have success with a needle and thread!
I believe that creativity has the power to calm the mind and feed the soul which is why I have started tt22 designs. My dream is to make these not-so-magical art forms accessible to everyone.
